Your Very Own Passover

"The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt".
Exodus 12: 13

A Christian was once asked - why do you have faith in God? His simple answer was "because my personal evidence of God is overwhelming."
Science may not be able to prove God exists - but personal experience does. When we go through life-threatening circumstances - and are delivered through our sacrifice of prayer - that is our personal experience. That is our very own "Passover".
In Exodus 12 verses 21 to 24 we are told about the first Passover and the deliverance of the Jews from the Angel of death. Think of that first Passover - what those people must have gone through - huddled together with nothing but a promise of life from God. They would have heard the wails of the Egyptian mothers, the cries of the people, and even an "unspared" Pharoah.
In verse 25 it is instructed to observe this time every year as a remembrance of what the Lord did.
Now think about us. When we are delivered, we praise Him. We thank Him. We glorify Him. And as time fades - we forget what He did as we experience new circumstances and new realities and new problems. However, remembering His past mercies gives strength to face the current and future.
Today, let's think about, and, remember what the Lord has done for you and me. But not just think. Can we set one day one week, or one month in a year, dedicated to thanking God for all His mercy, His compassion and His deliverance of us from the valley of danger, ruin, and sometimes even death? Can we dedicate a time every year - so that we bear witness of His faithfulness to ourselves, our families and our friends so that we forget not what He has done. Let us give life to God's work in our own lives in accordance with verses 26, 27 and 28 -
"25 When you enter the land that the Lord will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony. 26 And when your children ask you, ‘What does this ceremony mean to you?’ 27 then tell them, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.’” Then the people bowed down and worshiped."

Let us take King Davids advice in Psalm 103:2: "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all His benefits."

Arrow Prayer

Father Almighty, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever
