Sabbath Prayer: Be Still....

"He says, 'Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'"
 Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

In a world that constantly demands our attention, our output, and our data, the Sabbath is a radical act of resistance. It is the moment we deliberately hit "pause" on our tasks, quiet the noise of our screens, and log out of the pressure to always perform or produce.
Today, we trade our productivity for Presence, and our information for Wisdom.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the divine architecture of the Sabbath—a boundary You built into creation to protect our minds from burnout and our souls from weariness. Today, we step away from our screens, our schedules, and our striving. We acknowledge that while knowledge accumulates, true wisdom is only found in Your presence, when we are still. Lord we know you are our God - but help us to always remember that.
Lord, we quiet the noise and the mental clutter that accumulated over the week. Forgive us for the times we measured our worth by our work or mistook our busyness for purpose. As we lay down our tools and our uncompleted lists, we trust that You are holding everything together so that we don’t have to.
We ask for a deep, restorative rest today for each one. Re-calibrate our minds, refresh our creative spirits, and fill the quiet spaces of our hearts with Your peace. Teach us how to operate not from a place of empty striving, but from a reservoir of Your grace.
Lord today and everyday we thank you for Samira; we thank you for her life, for her healing and the strength you provide her everyday.
We thank you and pray for Lisa, for her peace as she re-builds her life as a cancer survivor. She needs the peace only you can provide.  We pray for her strength and thank you for her healing as well as her daughter Arielle's continued healing.
We pray for your grace on Jen and for your intervention to bring down her markers. We pray for your healing and strength for her as she goes through the process of chemotherapy.
We pray for Joan, and her upcoming sessions- that you may grant her the strength and your grace to be able to bear it.
We also pray for Laurika and Haleen - that they may experience your strength and grace. Also for Victoria for her healing from cancer as well as her mother, Alison.
We pray for Grace's job. For Svensons husband who has cancer; for Nathan's father in law who needs a stent; for a senior lady in India who is having an unexplained back pain- we pray for the doctors to find the reason and treat it. For a senior church member as he goes for dialysis and his daughter who is his care giver along with her husband and children. Bless the family for their care and love.
Lord we pray to you because you care and you listen and we hope in and wait on you.
Bless our families, our homes, and our communities with genuine connection. May we return to our callings refreshed, re-centered, and anchored in what matters most.

Amen.

Sabbath Prayers

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness"
(Isaiah 41:10 KJV)

We pray for Lisa, a cancer survivor herself, and whose daughter also detected with Cancer at a young age is in remission. We pray for her strength and thank you for her healing.
We thank you for your grace on Jen and Joan, and we pray for Joans upcoming session- that you may grant her the strength and your grace to be able to bear it. We pray for Jen and thank you for her Testimony she has shared of your great faithfulness. We also pray for Laurika and Haleen - that they may experience your strength and grace. Also for Victoria for her healing from cancer as well as her mother, Alison.

Lord, Your Word reminds us in Isaiah 41:10 not to fear, because You are always with us. As we rest today, we lay down our anxieties, our worries about tomorrow, and the fears that quietly trace the edges of our minds. Forgive us for the times this week we tried to carry it all on our own. Today, we remember that You are our God—unchanging, sovereign, and deeply mindful of us.
We thank You for the profound promise that You will strengthen us and help us. In moments where our own energy feels spent, wrap us in Your supernatural endurance. Where we feel ill-equipped for the seasons ahead, be our helper.
As we breathe in the peace of this Sabbath, we surrender to Your care. Thank You for holding us up with Your righteous right hand. We know we cannot fall when You are the one sustaining us.
May this day be a true sanctuary of spirit. Refresh our bodies, renew our minds, and fill our hearts with the steady confidence that we walk into the coming week under Your protection and guided by Your love.

In Your holy name, we pray.

Amen.

Sabbath Prayer: The Safe Place

The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. He make me lie down in green pastures He lead me beside still waters He restores my soul.

On this Sabbath day, we take refuge in the truth that we are perfectly held by the Good Shepherd. He doesn't just invite us to rest—He creates a safe space for our souls to be completely restored. As we enter His presence today, we bring before Him the deep valleys, the steep climbs, and the heavy burdens carried by those in our community, trusting that His goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives. Let us join our hearts together in prayer...

Almighty Father,
Ignite our prayer life today with fresh faith. Teach us to press in with persistence, standing confidently on the bedrock of Your promises.
Today, we lift up those in our community navigating seasons of trial and healing:
For Samira: Grant her deep physical and mental resilience as she goes through her treatment.
For Lisa & Arielle: Thank you for Arielles healing and remission. We praise your name and your blessing. Walk closely with Lisa during this incredibly challenging chapter. Give her the strength to rebuild her life and face her upcoming court case. We cover her daughter, Arielle, in prayer as she prepares for follow up chemotherapy
For Victoria, Alison, Joan, and Lindsey: Surround them with Your undeniable presence and grace. May your healing descend on Victoria.
For Jen: Thank you that her treatment is working. We pray for her doctors, and ask for continued strength for Jen.
Lord, we widen our circle to encompass every warrior fighting cancer right now. We ask for healing for little Ray Martin suffering from thyroid issues and a blood cancer please bring healing into his life.
We pray for Mr Ray Martin as he fell and broke his back a long time ago and he deals with a lot of back pain. Please bring your hands of healing upon his life and his wife Sandra as she has a cancerous lymph node
We also pray for Jan for her home situation. For Mike for his leg condition and insomnia.
We pray for an elder lady in India who is long suffering from a back problem. Please give her relief from pain and guidance to the doctors for understanding and treating the cause.
Please guide MN as she and her husband consider divorce. They have had a tough challenging life - help them to see the light.
May the peace of this sacred day linger in our hearts long after the sun sets, fueling our purpose for the week ahead.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me in all of the day in my life and I will dwell in the house of the lord forever. Amen.

We invite you to join us every week in our Sabbath Prayer. Please consider adopting these prayer points into your own quiet time this week, becoming vessels of His healing and love for those named above.

How Our Families Shape Our Faith

Most of us don’t realize that the very first theological framework we ever build isn’t constructed in a seminary or a church pew. It’s built around the kitchen table. Long before we learn to read a Bible, we learn to read the people raising us.

There is a stark, sometimes terrifying reality to how our human relationships define our spiritual imagination. Consider this incredibly candid reflection from a life spent working closely with families, from Ms. Francis Taylor who says -

"Just as I trusted my father to be there when I needed him, I trust God to be there. My father couldn't prevent disappointments or trouble from coming my way, neither can God. However, both fathers were there to see me through them, by my side all the way. God assures us that his love and his presence is everlasting. God is faithful even when we are not. I am well aware that not everyone has had a father's presence in their lives for so many different reasons. One of my grandsons was only 2 when his father died, and I am so proud of my daughter-in-law for letting him know that his father loved him. Some children have suffered at the hands of their parents, and this experience makes it difficult to trust God. When I would work with parents, I always reminded the Dad's that the first prayer most of us learn is the "Our Father" and that their children will judge God by their experience with their own father. I do realize that I was fortunate, and I encourage any men who read this to think about the connection their children will have between their behavior and God's. Even if you are not always able to be present, make sure that your children know of your love for them and that you have placed them under the protection of the Father".

But understand one fact: God is not an extension of our earthly parents. Our parents were meant to be an extension of Him.
Today, as parents, we have the profound privilege of rewriting the spiritual filter for the next generation.

Sabbath Prayers

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16 (KJV)
James wrote to believers scattered under pressure, reminding them that prayer was not a final option when everything else failed—it was their first and greatest resource.
Let us not measure the effectiveness of our prayers by immediate visible change. Some answers unfold gradually, shaped by divine timing. Continue to pray with faith, not frustration. Our tears are seen.
Almighty Father, ignite our prayer life with fresh faith. Teach us to pray with persistence and confidence in Your promises.
Today we once again pray for Samira - grant her physical and mental resilience as she recovers from Immunotherapy. For Lisa, as she walks through a difficult and challenging time in her life - We pray for her daughter  Arielle during her treatment and upcoming chemo.  For strength to Lisa in re-building her life and her court case. We pray for Victoria and Alison, for Joan and Lindsey.
And Lord, we widen this prayer to every person fighting cancer right now. We pray for Lexi as she battles her addiction; for Paladin for the DNA Test. For Janes husband to get a job; For peace for Trishy' Finally Lord we pray for Jen and the chemo she is going through. Thank you for the markers remaining stable and the efficacy of the treatment. For the doctor as well as strength for Jen.
May this Sabbath bring:
Rest that restores. Peace that settles the soul. Joy that rises from gratitude. Faith that grows deeper. Light that guides every step.
May the peace of this day linger in our hearts long after the sun sets, fueling our purpose for the week to come.
Amen.

Please join us every week in our Sabbath Prayer for the week. We request your support in adopting prayer points for people mentioned, in your own prayers this week and become vessels of His healing.

Living with Intentionality

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things
Philippians 4:8 (KJV)

Every human being has a daily choice - to live randomly or live intentionally with purpose.
As Christians, we are to live intentionally or with intentionality, which is a life according to God's plan, Gods word and Gods purpose.
But the most intense Christian faces an enemy within himself - the mind. The mind is random and leads us into thoughts which create fear, uncertainty and doubt. Or lead us into dreams based on untruths. The mind can take us into a false paradise or into a false hell. No matter how logical or intelligent we are, reaching a conclusion based on truth is an uphill task because each of us has a different truth - governed by logic and probability - and which is changing constantly. So what does one do? Where do we anchor our minds?
The answer is obvious: Gods truth and Gods word is constant. Never changing.
But, while we can try and anchor in the word of God, the outside world still crowds our minds - and uncertainty and doubts and fears still assail us. We therefore need a filter for our minds - not to block out world but to live within this world and yet let only His word dwell in our minds because that's where it all starts.
We therefore need a filter and the quoted verse tells us how to create that filter, with knowledge of the Word of God. That is where Christian maturity comes in.
Maturity is the ability to choose your thoughts rather than letting your thoughts choose you. You are the gatekeeper of your imagination, and you have the authority to deny entry to any thought that does not align with the peace of God. When you intentionally focus on what is true, lovely, and of a good report, you are not simply ignoring the harsh realities of life; you are choosing to dwell in a higher reality that governs the lower one. Because God has your life and it's actions in His hand. We don't. Therefore, He creates the reality, we don't. If he has promised healing - it will happen. If He has promised abundance it will happen. But: In His wisdom and His time.
Basis this, spiritual maturity is found in the believer who has learned to shut the door on spiraling unreal, anxious thoughts before they have a chance to take root and grow into a harvest of panic. Strengthening your walk involves a daily cleaning of the mental filter by washing your mind with the Word. As you choose to think on these things, you will find that your outlook becomes bright and your spirit becomes resilient against the storms of life. Let your mind be a sanctuary of hope that reflects the light of Christ to a dark world. Yield your focus to the leading of the Holy Spirit today and watch how He transforms your perspective.

Lessons from a Hiding Place

The story of Corrie ten Boom—a Dutch watchmaker who, along with her family, hid Jews during the Holocaust and later survived the Ravensbrück concentration camp—is one of the most powerful testimonies of the 20th century. Her life offers profound lessons on the limits of human strength and the boundlessness of divine grace. Her Book is available here
Here are the key lessons we can learn from her testimony:
1. Forgiveness is an Act of the Will, Not a Feeling
Perhaps her most famous lesson came after the war when she encountered a former S.S. guard from Ravensbrück. She felt paralyzed by hatred and could not bring herself to shake his hand.
• The Lesson: Forgiveness is a decision. Corrie prayed, "I can lift my hand. I can do that much. You supply the feeling."
• Takeaway: When we are commanded to love our enemies, God doesn’t just give the command; He provides the love itself when our own has run dry.
2. "No Pit is So Deep That God’s Love is Not Deeper Still"
Corrie and her sister Betsie lived through the unspeakable horrors of the "Extermination Camp" for women. Even in a place defined by dehumanization and death, they found that God’s presence was accessible.
• The Lesson: There is no environment or situation so dark that it can shut out the light of God.
• Takeaway: We often feel our circumstances are "too much" for faith to survive, but Corrie’s life proves that faith is often most visible in total darkness.
3. Gratitude in All Circumstances (Even the "Fleas")
In the barracks at Ravensbrück, the women were tormented by an infestation of fleas. While Corrie complained, Betsie insisted they thank God for them. They later discovered the guards refused to enter their barracks because of the fleas, which allowed the sisters to hold secret Bible studies and prayer meetings undisturbed.
• The Lesson: We rarely see the full picture of why we are enduring a particular "nuisance" or hardship.
• Takeaway: Gratitude isn't about liking your situation; it’s about trusting that God can use even the most miserable details for a greater purpose.
4. Preparation for the Future
Corrie often spoke about how her father, Casper, prepared her for suffering. He told her that God gives us the "ticket" (the strength) for the journey just as we are about to board the train, not weeks in advance.
• The Lesson: Don’t worry about whether you have the strength to handle a future crisis today.
• Takeaway: God provides "dying grace" for the day of death and "suffering grace" for the day of trial. You will have what you need when you need it, and not a moment before.
5. Holding Earthly Things Lightly
Corrie lived by the mantra: "I have held many things in my hands, and I have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God's hands, that I still possess."
• The Lesson: Tightening our grip on possessions, reputations, or even loved ones only leads to more pain when they are taken.
• Takeaway: True security is found only in the "Hiding Place"—the person of God—rather than in physical safety or worldly stability.
Core Quotes to Remember:
• "Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength."
• "Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God."
• "Is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire?"

Sabbath Vespers: 7 Principles of Prayer

Prayer is a very special communication between man and God. And communication makes sense only when it makes sense to both sides. The Bible has many principles of such communications - and today we bring these to you.

The 7 Principle of Prayer

1. Principle 1: It is in giving that we receive. Pray to give, not just to get. Pray for others - even if you pray for yourself - see how it will benefit others.
2.
Principle 2: Count your blessings and give thanks. Look for blessings past and present. No one is without them, no matter what their situation is.
3.
Principle 3: Don't jump into prayer. Silently, for a while, focus on your heart. Ask and give time for the Holy Spirit to renew you. Remain inside yourself - with no external noise.
4.
Principle 4: Don't tell God what to do. Just focus on the end result. All things are possible for God, for those who believe.
5.
Principle5 : Ask, look for the answers. Remember, God is in the silent whisper. And go on knocking and seeking till you find. And find you will.
6. Principle 6 : Trust in God implicitly and not on your own so called wisdom. He will direct us on the path- but we must be ready to follow.
7. Principle 7: God is the source of our supply. Not our jobs, not our business, not our benefactors but God and God alone. Acknowledge this.  Ask according to His will - His will being that we love one another, look our for each other, use our resources for Gods work and put God in all things, above all things.

Heavenly Father,
We come before You today lifting up those who are in need. Needs known to you. Who are in uncertainty, exhaustion, and spiritual warfare. We anchor this prayer in Your Word, specifically the promise that whoever dwells in Your shelter will find rest in Your shadow.
Lord, we pray for those seeking refuge in you from their respective situations:
We pray for Samira - We thank you for what you have blest her with. You grace, Your healing and your strength. We pray for it to continue in her upcoming immuno session. For Lisa, as she supports tries to find her life again after defeating cancer and being deserted by her husband. We thank you for your mercy on her daughter, also suffering from the pestilence of cancer, where you have not let it spread and we ask that you grant her strength for her chemo sessions.  For the miracle of complete healing for Arielle. We pray for Victoria and Alison, for Joan and Lindsey. We thank you for your healing bestowed on Joan and for stopping the pestilence in Jen to stop its relentless growth and become controllable. She is your missionary, protect her Lord. Give her relief from the pain and the side effects of chemo. We pray for Skyle; for your mercy of healing for the child.
For all the people who feel going through through illness, financial strain, or emotional heaviness—we ask that You draw them into Your secret place. Let them not just visit Your presence, but dwell there, finding a permanent home in Your grace.
We pray for divine rest: May Your shadow be a cooling canopy that shields them from the heat of their current trials.
We thank You that You are El Shaddai—the All-Sufficient God. Because You are the Most High, no situation we face is higher than Your authority. We ask that we all would feel the tangible comfort of Your wings today, knowing that Your faithfulness is our shield and rampart.
Establish our footsteps, cover our households, and let the peace that surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and minds.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Great Expectations: Finding Hope in the Heart of the Exile

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
 — Jeremiah 29:11

There is a masterpiece in English literature by Charles Dickens titled Great Expectations. If you have never read it, it is a story worth exploring. The novel follows a young orphan named Pip who suddenly inherits a vast fortune from an anonymous benefactor. However, as Pip chases after high society, wealth, and status, he undergoes a tragic transformation—moving from a place of simple empathy and goodness to selfish pride and empty ambition. Dickens brilliantly critiques how chasing the wrong expectations can cause us to lose our core values and genuine relationships.
Unwittingly, Dickens captured a profound spiritual truth. When we approach God, a silent but incredibly deep question questions our hearts: What are our expectations from God?
In Jeremiah 29:11, God clearly states His true intentions toward mankind. He doesn't just speak these intentions; He backs them up with the ultimate action—sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to a fate literally worse than death so that we would not face the retribution of our sins.
Nothing can be stated more beautifully than this promise. In this passage, an "expected end" is a future filled with hope, restoration, and ultimate good. It is God’s reassurance that no matter how painful, dark, or long your current season of trial may be, He is actively directing history toward a purposeful, beneficial conclusion. That is Gods stated and promised intention. What about our expectations?
In our human nature, we often treat God like an anonymous benefactor, projecting our own "great expectations" onto Him. We expect money, wealth, ease, and elevated status. But God, in His perfect love, doesn't want us to lose our souls to selfish pride. He has a much higher standard for our lives.
If we want to experience this "expected end," we must realign our expectations with His intentions. Based on His Word, here are three things we can truly expect from God:

1. Expect Great Things—Aligned with His Word
Our expectations must be in sync with the Scriptures. When our desires line up with God’s heart, He delights in fulfilling them. Because our God is a great God, we should have truly great expectations—not for worldly vanity, but for spiritual victory, transformation, and provision as promised in the Bible. Anchor your mind to His promises, declare them continually over your life, and watch how God brings them to pass.
2. Expect Growth, Not Shortcuts
We must remember the context of Jeremiah's letter: it was written to captives who were told they would be stuck in exile for 70 years. There were no shortcuts. Sometimes, God’s plan involves enduring the trial, settling in, and growing during the exile rather than escaping it. We can confidently expect that God is present and active even in our darkest seasons, providing the exact grace we need to endure.

3. Expect a Meaningful Conclusion
You can rest assured that your suffering is not meaningless. Because God has "thoughts of peace, and not of evil" toward you, He is actively weaving your most difficult, broken circumstances into a beautiful tapestry. Your story will not end in despair.

Today, let us align our desire perfectly with His Word, Trust in the seasons of waiting and exile, knowing that He is present in the dark.

Our Spiritual Temperature

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve... but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
Joshua 24:15 (KJV)

Have you ever walked into a house and immediately felt a deep sense of peace? Conversely, have you ever stepped into a room and instantly felt a heavy, unspoken tension?

A home is so much more than four walls, a roof, and furniture. It is an environment. Every single day, whether we realize it or not, we are cultivating a specific spiritual climate inside our living spaces. We often treat our faith as a deeply personal, private matter, but the Bible paints a different picture. The choices we make, the words we speak, and the attitudes we harbor set the daily temperature for everyone living under our roof.
And you are the gatekeeper.
Spiritual maturity begins with a powerful recognition: you are the gatekeeper of your home’s atmosphere.
If we allow constant complaining, discord, or worldly compromise to dominate the airwaves of our living rooms, we cannot reasonably expect a harvest of righteousness, joy, and peace in our spouses or our children. You can't plant seeds of chaos and expect to grow a garden of peace.
When Joshua stood before the Israelites and declared, "as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord," he was drawing a line in the sand. He wasn't waiting to see what the culture around him was going to do. He made a proactive, intentional choice. When you dedicate your household to the Lord, you are drawing that same line, signaling to the enemy that he is not allowed to cross into your territory.
The Takeaway: Your home is meant to be a sanctuary, not just a residence. Do not allow the chaos of the outside world to dictate the peace of your inside world.
Strengthening your family's spiritual health requires a daily "cleansing" of the environment. It means refusing to let bitterness settle in the corners or compromise take root in the daily routine.
As you intentionally choose to serve the Lord with your whole house, you will unlock a beautiful new level of divine protection and joy.

Let your home be a lighthouse in a dark neighborhood. Yield your family life, your schedules, and your conversations to the leadership of the Holy Spirit today.
Reflection
What is the current "temperature" of my home, and what changes can I make today to bring more of God's peace into it?
Are there any "open doors" (attitudes, media, or habits) that I need to close to protect my family's spiritual atmosphere?

The Mirror of Life

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 1:22 (KJV)

Have you ever looked in a mirror, noticed a smudge on your face, and then just walked away without cleaning it?
The mirror did its job by showing you the truth, but the look was useless because you didn't act on what you saw.
The Bible is a spiritual mirror. It shows us our true condition—our pride, our potential, and our need for grace. Many believers are professional hearers; they take notes, listen to podcasts, and attend studies, yet their lives remain exactly the same. We are not called to only hear but to also do.
Friends, your growth is found in your obedience, not just your information; do not settle for a head full of knowledge and a heart full of old habits. Spiritual maturity is found in the believer who is quick to adjust their life to the light of Scripture. Strengthening your walk involves a daily response to the Mirror, refusing to ignore the areas where God is calling for change. As you become a doer of the Word, you will find a new level of integrity and a greater power in your walk. Let the Word of God be the final authority for your actions. Yield your opinions to His instructions today.
Transformation only happens when the truth you see on the page becomes the choice you make in your day.

Prayer point: Almighty God, help me to be a faithful doer of Your Word. Forgive me for the times I have heard Your truth but failed to put it into practice. Grant me the courage and the strength to change whatever needs to be changed in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Monday Reset: Ditches in the Dry Valleys

"And he said, Thus saith the Lord, Make this valley full of ditches. For thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye and your cattle, and your beasts."
— 2 Kings 3:16-17

Monday Focus: Believing Preparation

We often start our Mondays looking at the dry valleys in our lives—the looming workloads, the exhausted resources, the relationship challenges, or the overwhelming demands of the week ahead. Like the three kings in this passage, we can find ourselves at our wits’ end, feeling utterly helpless to bring down the rain we so desperately need.
But God's instruction to the people was simple yet profound: Prepare for the blessing before you see the evidence.
Before a single drop of water was visible, they were commanded to dig. They had to sweat, labor, and prepare the ground to hold the miracle.

This Monday, God is asking us to do the same. We are called to make a believing preparation. The trenches we dig through our prayers, our faithfulness, our hard work, and our quiet trust are the very vessels that will hold the grace God is preparing to pour out.
How the Blessing Arrives: Silent & Sovereign
Sometimes we expect God to move only in the spectacular—with the rush of wind and the roar of thunder (like Elijah’s heavy rains). But 2 Kings reminds us of God's quiet sovereignty: "Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled."
God does not need a storm to bring a breakthrough. He can fill your dry spaces silently, mysteriously, and when you least expect it.
You might not see the "wind" of sudden promotion.
You might not see the "rain" of an obvious miracle.
Yet, by tomorrow morning, you may find your dry valley quietly overflowing with His peace, provision, and strength.
He is not tied to our methods or our timelines. Our job is simply to prepare thankfully, receive humbly, and trust completely.

As you step into this week, ask yourself: Am I waiting to see the rain before I start digging? Or am I preparing the ground in faith?
Here are three practical ways to "dig your ditches" this week:
The Ditch of Prayer: Pray not just for relief, but with the expectation of rain. Set aside 5 minutes every morning to dedicate your day to Him.
The Ditch of Preparation: Do your part with excellence. Prepare your schedule, organize your tasks, and show up ready, trusting that God will multiply your efforts.
The Ditch of Trust: Release the need to control how the blessing arrives. Let go of trying to dictate the wind or the rain.
What is one dry area in my life right now where God is asking me to take a small, practical step of faith (dig a ditch) this week, even though I cannot see the rain yet?

Do You Want to Get Well? Jen Tan

One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years.
When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
John 5: 5-6

Jen Tan, struggling with breast cancer found God in her Cancer journey. She shares her experiences with God every Friday as she continues her battle - now with the grace of God on her side.
We urge all our readers to pray for Jen as she goes through this very difficult treatment. Pray for the treatment to have minimal side effects and maximum efficacy.
__________________________________________________

Todays' heartfelt, honouring post captures Jen’s voice, her journey, and the theme “Great is Thy Faithfulness”. Her testimony inspires each of us and invites us into reflection:

In today’s devotional, Jen Tan shares from John 5:5–6 — a reminder that even in long seasons of weakness, Jesus sees us, knows us, and meets us at the deepest level of our need.
As Jen continues her cancer treatment, she reflects on how God’s faithfulness has carried her through moments that felt hopeless. Instead of an instant miracle, God is doing a deeper work in her — shaping her testimony, refining her purpose, and drawing her closer to His heart.
Her journey has become a living reminder that healing is not only physical. Sometimes God heals us by awakening our spirit, renewing our purpose, and revealing His grace in ways we never expected.
Jen writes with gratitude, recognising that God has had a plan for her life from the very beginning. Even in suffering, His faithfulness has never failed.

May her story strengthen your faith today.

Spiritual Static: Hearing His Voice in the Chaos

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."
John 10:27 (KJV)

Imagine being in a crowded, bustling marketplace. Hundreds of people are shouting, music is playing, and the air is thick with noise. Yet, in an instant, you can pick out the voice of your spouse, your child, or a lifelong friend. You don't find them because they are the loudest; you find them because you are intimately familiar with their tone.
In our daily lives, we are bombarded by "spiritual static"—the relentless roar of news feeds, the pressure of social media, and the persistent hum of our own internal anxieties. In this chaos, God’s voice can feel like a faint whisper. We often worry that we aren't "spiritual enough" to hear Him, but hearing God isn't a talent for the elite; it is a natural byproduct of knowing Him.
Hearing God is less about the ears and more about proximity. If you can’t hear someone, your first instinct is to move closer. The same is true in our relationship with the Shepherd.
How?
Firstly, The Word is the Filter: The more time you spend in Scripture, the more His "tone" becomes unmistakable. The Word trains your spirit to recognize the rhythm of His heart.
Second, Frequency is the key, not Volume: Spiritual maturity is the art of quieting the internal chatter. When we tune our hearts to His frequency, the "follow" stops being a chore and starts being an act of trust.
When you recognize His voice, you no longer have to struggle to decide which thought is yours and which is His. His peace becomes the signal that cuts through the static.

Reflection Questions
What "noise" (a specific worry, habit, or distraction) is currently creating the most static in your life?
What is one practical way you can "move closer" to the Shepherd’s side this week to better hear His whisper?

One of the most effective ways to move closer to the Shepherd’s side is to practice "The First Five"—committing the first five minutes of your day to silence and a single verse of Scripture before you touch your phone.
Why this works:
In our world of "spiritual static," the phone is usually the primary source of noise. When we check emails or social media the moment we wake up, we are essentially letting the world set the "frequency" for our day. We start our morning in a state of reaction rather than reflection.
How to do it:
The Physical Boundary: Place your phone in another room or across the room the night before.
The Single Seed: Choose one verse (like John 10:27) and keep it on your nightstand.
The Listening Silence: Read the verse once, then sit in silence for a few minutes. Don't ask for anything yet; just tell the Shepherd, "I am here, and I am listening."
By giving God the "first fruits" of your attention, you are physically and mentally moving closer to His side. You are training your spirit to recognize His tone before the "noise" of the day has a chance to compete for your attention.

Monday Reset: The Treasure and the Jar

"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."
2 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV)

We live in a world obsessed with the "vessel." The outer covering. We are told to polish our exteriors, filter our flaws, and present a "spectacular" version of ourselves to be worthy of notice. We often approach God with the same mindset, believing we must be gold-plated and crack-free before He can use us. Herein lies the Divine Contrast.
God’s design is intentionally different. He places His infinite, priceless glory inside "earthen vessels"—ordinary, fragile, and often chipped "cardboard boxes." If the container were perfect, people might mistake the vessel for the source. By choosing the ordinary, God ensures that when something extraordinary happens, the world knows it was Him.
The Purpose of the Cracks? For Gods light within you to shine through. A solid, windowless room stays dark; it is only through the openings—the cracks—that light can spill out into the hallway.
When you stop trying to hide your "clay-ness," you give God the space to show off His "treasure-ness." Your limitations aren't disqualifiers; they are the very things that qualify you for His grace.

Reflection Questions

What "cracks" (insecurities or weaknesses) have you been trying to patch up lately?
How would your day change if you viewed your limitations as opportunities for God’s light to shine?

As we start a new week let us remember -

Maturity is not the absence of struggle; it is the acceptance of your humanity.
Strength is not found in image management; it is found in total reliance on His divinity.
Success is moving from being the "source" of power to becoming a "channel" for it.

We need to be comfortable being "just a vessel" as long as He is the one being glorified. Let His power be made perfect in our weakness, and let His light shine through every crack in our  life. Amen.

Sabbath Prayers

"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty."

Heavenly Father,

We come before You today lifting up those who are navigating seasons of uncertainty, exhaustion, and spiritual warfare. We anchor our hearts in Your Word, specifically the promise that whoever dwells in Your shelter will find rest in Your shadow.
Lord, we pray for those seeking refuge:
We pray for Samira - grant her physical and mental resilience as she recovers from Immunotherapy and may she get over the effects of her treatment quickly. For Lisa, as she supports her daughter Arielle during her treatment. We ask for your wisdom in her family life. For the miracle of complete healing for Arielle. For strength to Lisa in re-building her life and her court case. We pray for Victoria and Alison, for Joan and Lindsey. We pray  very specially for Jan: Lord grant her healing of the body and strengthen her mind. She is your missionary, protect her Lord. Give her relief from the pain and the side effects of chemo.
For all the people who feel exposed to the storms of life—whether through illness, financial strain, or emotional heaviness—we ask that You draw them into Your secret place. Let them not just visit Your presence, but dwell there, finding a permanent home in Your grace.
We pray for divine rest:
In a world that demands constant movement, we ask for the supernatural "rest of the Almighty" to settle over our families and communities. Quiet the anxious thoughts and the "noise of the fowler." May Your shadow be a cooling canopy that shields them from the heat of their current trials.
We declare Your Sovereignty:
We thank You that You are El Shaddai—the All-Sufficient God. Because You are the Most High, no situation they face is higher than Your authority. We ask that they would feel the tangible comfort of Your wings today, knowing that Your faithfulness is their shield and rampart.
Establish their footsteps, cover their households, and let the peace that surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and minds.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.

An Existential Inquiry

"I will be their God and they will be my people"

Humanity has long grappled with an existential "Telos"—a question of ultimate ends. We ask not only what will become of the physical cosmos, but where we, as individuals and a community, sit within the divine architecture of time. When we turn to Holy Scripture, we find that history is not a series of random events, but a purposeful progression toward a specific resolution.
The Apocalypse as Rebirth: Beyond Judgment
While the Book of Revelation is often colloquially reduced to a manifesto of divine judgment, a deeper theological exegesis reveals a more profound narrative: the Ontological Transition. It depicts the passing away of the statu quo—the "old-world order" corrupted by sin—and the emergence of the New Jerusalem, uncorrupted and designed to be incorruptible. This is not merely the destruction of the earth, but its radical "Restoration." Revelation paints a picture of a world where the boundary between the Divine and the Human is finally dissolved.

The Covenant Formula: "I Will Be Their God"
The linchpin of this entire biblical narrative is a recurring theological motif known as the Covenant Formula: "I will be their God, and they shall be my people." This phrase is the "Golden Thread" of Scripture, appearing in the foundational promises of Genesis (17:7), the liberation of Exodus (6:7), the internal transformation of Jeremiah’s New Covenant (31:33), and finally, the climactic vision of Revelation (21:3).
Key Theological Pillars of the Formula:

Covenantal Intimacy: This is not a legalistic contract, but a formal, binding, and intimate bond—often interpreted through the lens of a "Sacred Marriage" (Hosea 2).
Universal Inclusion: Through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Particulate covenant (with Israel) is expanded into a Universal covenant. The "Citizenship" of the New World is offered to all who respond in faith to the "Christ-Event."
Divine Immanence: The formula guarantees "The Presence." It signifies that God is no longer a distant observer but an indwelling companion, walking among His creation as originally intended in Eden.
The Citizen-Mission: Populating the New World
Theologically, we must conclude that if a "New World" is emerging, it requires a "New Humanity." Jesus Christ, the Architect of this New Creation, did not leave the population of this Kingdom to chance. He issued the Great Commission—a divine mandate that transforms every believer into a "Recruitment Agent" for the Kingdom of Heaven.
Stewardship of Talent and Character
Our responsibility is twofold:
Missional Stewardship: Every gift—whether it be intellectual, financial, or creative—is "Kingdom Capital." We are called to invest these talents into the "Great Work" of populating the New World by sharing the Message of Christ.
The Christ-Model (Imitatio Christi): The most potent tool for mission is not our words, but our "Ontological Witness"—the way we live. By modeling our lives after the character of Jesus, we provide a visible preview of "New World Citizenship" to a broken world. We live today according to the laws of the world that is coming, so that others may be drawn into that same hope.

Friends, history is moving toward a Covenantal Fulfillment. We are not merely observers of the end of the world; we are active participants in the birth of a new one. Through our faith and our imitation of Christ, we secure our citizenship and invite the world to join us in the New Jerusalem.

I will be their God, and they shall be my people. — 2 Corinthians 6:16

What a sweet title: “My people!” What a cheering revelation: “Their God!” How much of meaning is couched in those two words, “My people!” Here is speciality. The whole world is God's; the heaven, even the heaven of heavens is the Lord's, and he reigneth among the children of men; but of those whom he hath chosen, whom he hath purchased to himself, he saith what he saith not of others—“My people.” In this word there is the idea of proprietorship. In a special manner the “Lord’s portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.” All the nations upon earth are his; the whole world is in his power; yet are his people, his chosen, more especially his possession; for he has done more for them than others; he has bought them with his blood; he has brought them nigh to himself; he has set his great heart upon them; he has loved them with an everlasting love, a love which many waters cannot quench, and which the revolutions of time shall never suffice in the least degree to diminish. Dear friends, can you, by faith, see yourselves in that number? Can you look up to heaven and say, “My Lord and my God: mine by that sweet relationship which entitles me to call thee Father; mine by that hallowed fellowship which I delight to hold with thee when thou art pleased to manifest thyself unto me as thou dost not unto the world?” Canst thou read the Book of Inspiration, and find there the indentures of thy salvation? Canst thou read thy title writ in precious blood? Canst thou, by humble faith, lay hold of Jesus’ garments, and say, “My Christ”? If thou canst, then God saith of thee, and of others like thee, “My people;” for, if God be your God, and Christ your Christ, the Lord has a special, peculiar favour to you; you are the object of his choice, accepted in his beloved Son.

Monday Reset: The Prudent Check

"The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps."
Proverbs 14:15

In a world that moves at the speed of a notification, we are constantly bombarded with "facts," urgent requests, and split-second opportunities. The temptation is to react instantly—to believe the first report we hear or to say "yes" before we’ve weighed the cost.
Proverbs 14:15 draws a sharp contrast between two ways of living:
1. The Simple Path: This isn't about a lack of intelligence, but a lack of boundaries. It is a life lived on "autopilot," where we let external noise dictate our internal direction. When we believe everything without testing it, we surrender our agency to whoever speaks the loudest.
2. The Prudent Path: The "prudent" person isn't cynical, but they are intentional. They understand that every decision—no matter how small—is a seed planted for the future. They "give thought to their steps," meaning they slow down long enough to ask: Is this true? Is this wise? Where does this lead?
The "Reset" Strategy
As you start your week, don't just rush into your "to-do" list. Apply the Prudent Check:
Audit Your Information: Before reacting to a stressful email or a piece of news, verify the source. Don’t let unexamined "facts" rob you of your peace.
Pause Before the Pivot: If a new project or demand arises today, don't commit immediately. Give yourself the space to "give thought" to how it aligns with your long-term goals.
Walk, Don't Run: Haste is often the enemy of wisdom. True progress is measured by the quality of your steps, not just the speed of your stride.
Ask for a  discerning heart this week; to filter the noise around and to seek the truth before taking action. Walk with intention rather than impulse. Let your steps be guided by His wisdom so that you may move with confidence and clarity.
Focus Question for the Day
What is one area of my life right now where I have been moving on "autopilot" instead of giving thought to my steps?

Sabbath Vespers

(Dear Readers, we bring our Sabbath prayers and requests to you for inclusion of people who need you to pray for them. We have seen the power of prayer working in the lives of a number of these people for whom you have prayed in the past and we earnestly request you all to continue).

Gracious and Eternal Creator, As the sun sets and the shadows lengthen, we pause at the threshold of Your holy Sabbath. We lay down the tools of our labor, the anxieties of our hearts, and the burdens of a week filled with striving. In this golden hour of Vespers, we welcome Your peace that passes all understanding.
Lord, we lift up our brothers and sisters in this community. For the weary: Grant them the deep, restorative sleep that only You can provide. For the lonely: Let them feel the warmth of Your presence and the embrace of Your spiritual family.
For the sick and suffering: Be the Great Physician; bring healing to their bodies and quiet to their minds.
For the World
For those in conflict: We pray for the "Sabbath of Peace" to fall upon war-torn lands.
We pray for the forgiveness of our sins, both in omission and commission and while we are not worthy, we look to Jesus for this salvation.
As we enter these sacred hours, sanctify our thoughts and our conversations. May this Sabbath be a foretaste of the eternal rest promised to Your people. Let our hearts be a sanctuary where Your Spirit dwells undisturbed.
As the sun sets, we lay down our burdens and pick up His peace.
We thank you for the healing you have provided Samira, Joan and Lisa's daughter who is stable. We pray for Lisa as she negotiates a tough court case and looks at restarting her own life after cancer.  We thank you for the healing of mind you have provided Jen and we pray for her chemo sessions. We also pray for Alison's daughter, for relief from her disease and peace for Lisa and Alison. At this time we pray very specially for Puja, for her medical tests and earnestly request that all her tests show she is fine.
We pray for Kim whose husband has suddenly passed. We pray for her strength and your grace.  We pray for Rach who is in a very desperate situation after domestic violence. Please provide for her and her children, as they are not getting any help from the government. We pray for Ms. Floyd as she is checked for cancer.

We look toward India and lift up Your servants. Be with Pastor Ben and his family, covering them with Your protection. We especially pray for the family facing a father’s serious illness. Guard his heart against despair; let him feel the tangible weight of Your grace. Empower his daughter as she cares for him—give her supernatural stamina and a peace that surpasses the gravity of the situation.
As we go through this day, may this Sabbath be defined by: Rest that mends the weary.
Peace that silences the storm. Gratitude that births new joy.
Light that makes the next step clear.

Amen.

Please join us every week in our Sabbath Prayer for the week. We request your support in adopting prayer points for people mentioned, in your own prayers this week and become vessels of His healing.
