"Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us"
James 4:5
Holy father, we praise you, your son Jesus and your Holy Spirit for showing us how to live and worship you. We have failed miserably in this - with our desire for worldly pleasures sometimes overcoming our priorities. Forgive us Lord we pray, for the sake of your son and our Lord, Jesus Christ, we ask for your forgiveness and your love as He guides us back to you.
We thank you for your mercies which we, do not deserve. Yet in your love you do not forget us, waiting patiently for our return to your fold.
We know Lord that as much as we come towards you, towards our heavenly destination, we face spiritual attacks from our adversary, tempting us, frightening us with problems bigger than ourselves and trying to force us away from you. But through it all we know you are with us. For if you are with us Lord, we will overcome. Give us the strength we pray to sustain and be faithful through it all.
We thank you Lord for your grace on Samira and Nina. We also thank you for the healing you have started in Simon and Samaira. We ask for your grace on Mr. Roy and Sonika's brother and family. We continue to pray for them all for your mercy and grace. For your healing and strength.
Lord, we pray for Joan and Lisa as they rehabilitate after their remission from cancer. Guide them Lord and sustain them with wisdom and opportunity. We pray for Lisa's daughter for complete healing and strength to go through her chemo sessions. We pray for Jen, to start the clinical trials soon so that she too may get relief from this pestilence.
We pray for Kit for getting the resources and help she needs to overcome her mental illness. We pray for Disneys son and husband. We pray for SS, for the miracle she needs. For Bens job; for Senior citizens everywhere - in particular for strength for the lady in Delhi who suffers from acute back pain and her daughter. We pray for Mr. Roys daughter and family as they take care of him, assuring him of their love.
We lay all our prayers and requests as well as our songs of praise and gratitude at you feet. We ask for your Holy Spirit to guide each one of us as we read your word and give us the strength to implement it in our daily lives.
As we end this Sabbath and start a new week, be with us in our daily life, helping us to love in and with your word.
In Jesus' name
Amen.
