"Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness."
Lamentations 3:22–23
Mondays often come with a heavy task list: undone goals from last week, fresh anxieties for the days ahead, or simply the weight of trying to get things right. It’s easy to feel like you’re constantly falling short or running out of chances.
But take a moment to look at the morning sky.
Every single day, as light breaks over the horizon, a quiet promise is renewed. The sunrise isn't just a natural cycle—it's a divine proclamation. It is God declaring to the world: "I have not given up on you."
When the sun comes up, it means God has given humanity another day, another breath, and another opportunity to experience His grace. It means despite our flaws, our doubts, and our missteps yesterday, God has still not given up on us. His mercy isn't a recycled leftover from yesterday; it is freshly minted for you this morning.
You don't need to carry the failures, guilt, or fatigue of last week into today. The God who commands the sun to rise has already provided the grace you need for whatever this week holds.
Let us celebrate God and Life this week:
Pause at First Light: Tomorrow morning, step outside or look out a window for just two minutes as the light enters the room. Remind yourself: New morning, new mercy.
Release Yesterday: Mentally "drop" one mistake or regret from last week. God isn't holding it against you; don't hold it against yourself.
Step Out in Hope
Walk into your work, family, and responsibilities knowing that you are backed by a God who hasn't given up on the world—and certainly hasn't given up on you.
Arrow Prayer
Lord, thank You for the sunrise. Thank You that every new day is living proof of Your patience and unyielding love. Thank you for another chance. Amen.
